Mother’s Day Out at Leander United Methodist Church is a place where children and families can learn and grow in a loving environment where God is at the center of everything we do.  We pray together, grow  together, and learn together.

We provide a great educational experience for the children and work to prepare them for Kindergarten with a play-based approach.  We also provide support opportunities for the families we serve.  We understand the important and difficult role you play at this stage in your child's life and we work hard to provide you with the support you need to be the best parent possible for your child.

WHAT OUR PROGRAM OFFERS:

Songs, Stories and Sports

Once a week we have music, movement and story time. We sing songs together, dance, move along with songs, listen to and act out stories. Not only do we have lots of fun, but we further enhance our monthly focus and develop our literacy skills!

Chapel Time

Each Tuesday morning we head over to the sanctuary for chapel time where we sing songs about Jesus and hear exciting Bible stories. Pastor Tim’s stories are very engaging and often include fun props and special music which children of all ages find especially delightful.

Arts and Crafts

We incorporate fine motor skills into a daily craft project or other learning opportunity that relates to the theme of the month. Our projects may be gifts, mementos, or crafts to help supplement our learning experiences.

Outdoor Play

We provide opportunities for gross motor play daily. Weather permitting, we play outside, but also have opportunities for gross motor play indoors if we are unable to play outside.

Field Trips and Special Days

At least once a month we have a field trip or a special theme day, such as a visit to the pumpkin patch, picnic in the park, tour of HEB, Pajama Day, Splash Day, or Rainbow Day.
